Ukrainian Christmas Thankful Event took place in Belfast
On January 8, 2023, Ukrainians and local residents gathered in the capital of Northern Ireland, the city of Belfast, to hold a charity event on the occasion of Ukrainian Christmas, as well as to acquaint the residents of Northern Ireland with Ukrainian culture, traditions and cuisine, to thank everyone for their help during 2022, which was very difficult for all Ukrainians.
Nearly 600 people attended the event. As part of the Christmas Thankful event, a drawing was held, the purpose of which was to raise funds for the purchase of an ambulance for Ukraine. Thanks to the help of all those present, £3,584 was raised.
Sergiy Balan, a representative of The Association of Ukrainians in Republic Ireland (AURI), took part in the event. He expressed his gratitude to all those present, spoke about the work of AURI, and also joined the creative evening and accompanied on button accordion during the performance of Ukrainian songs.
