The Ukrainian community in Cavan celebrated the 32nd anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine

Події

On August 24, 2023, the Ukrainian community in Cavan celebrated the Independence Day of Ukraine.

The event took place in the Ukrainian hub Palyanytsya with the support of County Cavan Local Development and the Association of Ukrainians in the Republic of Ireland.

In a warm and inspiring atmosphere, sincere words were spoken about Ukraine, the value of its independence and its modern heroic history.

On this day, everything was dedicated to Ukraine: the pupils of the Ukrainian Cultural Center read poetry, sang songs and danced, choral compositions sounded, as well as solo songs about Ukraine. The guests also enjoyed the musical compositions performed by the bandura player.

We are grateful to our guests Brendan Smith TD, TD for Cavan-Monaghan and Сhair of the British Irish Parliamentary Assembly and Councilor Philip Brady, who attended the event and expressed words of support to the Ukrainian people and all Ukrainians who found comfort in County Cavan.

Thanks to all our guests, volunteers, artists, kids and their parents for creating this important сelebration together!

“Independence Day is not only a holiday. This is an opportunity to confirm that neither war nor difficult situations can break our national spirit. We remember those who gave their lives for our future, those who sacrificed their youth and the most valuable - their loyalty to the Motherland. We express our readiness to unite and make all our efforts to ensure a peaceful and free future for our descendants. Let this Independence Day become a symbol of our solidarity, courage and indomitable will. Let remind us that we can overcome any difficulty when we are together. Long live in independence for all of us!”
