The Easter Liturgy and the consecration of festive hampers took place in Cavan
On April 15, 2023, the Easter Holy Liturgy in the Ukrainian Byzantine rite was held for the first time in the Cathedral of Saint Patrick and Saint Felim in Cavan, served by Father Vasily from the Ukrainian Church.
The liturgy was held in honor of Easter – the greatest holiday in the church calendar, which Eastern Rite Christians celebrate on April 16 this year.
Ukrainians from County Cavan and even from Northern Ireland joined the common prayer and glorification of the Risen Christ.
The Holy Liturgy was accompanied by singing by the seminary brothers from the Fratelli quartet. They performed several pieces of music for those present.
Father Vasily congratulated the Ukrainian community in County Cavan on Easter, wished everyone joy, health, well-being, well-being and Victory and Peace in Ukraine. In his speech, he called on Ukrainians to pray for our fellow citizens who are now in their homeland, for military, who courageously defend the borders of our country.
After the Liturgy, the Blessing of the Easter hampers took place.
The event was held with the support of the Cavan County Local Development and Association of Ukrainians in the Republic of Ireland.
Huge and heartfelt gratitude to everyone, thanks to whom such an important event for us, Ukrainians, took place, even far from our home!
