Prayer Vigil remembering 2 years of full scale war in Ukraine, Cavan

Події

February 24, 2022 marked a tragic day in the history of Ukraine, as a full-scale war commenced. For two years now, the nation has been courageously battling a ruthless adversary, safeguarding what is most precious – the lives of its people.

In appreciation of the unwavering support from the Irish people and the international community, the Ukrainian community in Cavan extends an invitation to all for a communal prayer and evening of remembrance.

The memorial service will be conducted by Fr Kevin Fay and Fr Vasily from the Ukrainian Church.

To demonstrate unity, there will be performances by Irish and Ukrainian artists, including special appearance by award winning singer/songwriter Don Mescall.

Irish traditional music will be performed by Martin Donohoe with his band.

And compositions performed by The National Ukrainian Choir of Ireland will also be heard.

The event will take place on February 24, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. in the Cathedral of Saint Patrick and Saint Felim, Cavan.

Programme:

We kindly ask everyone to come and support Ukrainians on this important day for us, to share with us the pain of loss, to help find a home again, to show solidarity and thus demonstrate that we all want peace in the world and people should no longer die from weapons.
